Review: We Were Liars by E. Lockhart
Let me start off by telling you that this is not the light read that the cover portrays it is. I had heard from other people that this book is better if you go into it blind, so that's what I did. Along with everyone else, I am going to recommend to you to begin the book without really knowing anything about it, so I am not going to tell you much about the story. Going into this, I thought that it was going to be a light-hearted, summery read where some teenagers make a few mistakes. Well, I was completely off.
The writing style was very poetic and it was difficult to follow at times, but nonetheless it was beautiful. There are many characters in the book which gets confusing at times, but there is a helpful family tree at the beginning of the books. I had to refer to this many times when I first began reading, but I eventually learned all of the characters.
Overall, the cover of this book may be deceiving, but I highly recommend this to anyone. It was amazing!
